Packers Recruiting Multiple Big Name Stars

Maxx Crosby might be a candidate to be the next big Packers defensive star.

Now that the 2024 NFL season is for the history books, another season begins and with it, the most anticipated offseason in sports. With April's NFL Draft fast approaching and free agency officially getting underway in March, teams are already starting to position themselves for next year's run to the Super Bowl.

Packers All-Pro return man Keisean Nixon took to his X account to recruit two big-name players with ties to the Las Vegas Raiders. Both former Packer Davante Adams and Maxx Crosby are potential NFL trade targets this offseason and both have been rumored to garner the interest of the Green Bay Packers. Nixon reached out to both Crosby and Adams directly:

NFL insider Ian Rappaport reported that Crosby might look forward to a change of scenery in Green Bay,

"Crosby might welcome the change, particularly if it's to a playoff team where he knows people like Green Bay."

Packers QB Jordan Love also involved himself in recruitment and courted a rival none the less. While on Micah Parsons' podcast, Love was asked who he was interested in bringing to the Packers. The star QB replied, "The dude sittin' right next to me." To confirm, Parsons was indeed sitting right next to him. Love continued, "That'd be pretty cool. That'd be pretty cool. You don't think so?"

While Parsons isn't set to become a free agent until after the 2025 season, he has been a rumored trade candidate for a Dallas Cowboys team in flux after a season ending injury to QB Dak Prescott and the unceremonious firing of former Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy.

If the Packers are interested in acquiring the Cowboy star, it won't come cheap. According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune,

"A package to acquire Micah Parsons would start with two first round picks and then go from there. Then the acquiring team likely would have to sign Parsons to a deal making him the highest paid defensive player in the NFL."

While the trade may seem unlikely, stranger things have happened. Who would have ever thought Reggie White or Charles Woodson would have ended up in Green Bay, leading the Packers to two Super Bowl titles?

As for former Packer Davante Adams, if his footwear choice is any indicator, a return to Green Bay would seem imminent.
